Brooklyn Brunch

Brooklyn really knows how to do brunch.

During my last visit to the Big Apple, I had two fantastic experiences off the beaten path.

The first was at Bagel Pub, a no-frills eatery in Park Slope. These people understand bagels. If you can get over the line and tight quarters, you'll be greeted with many sandwich, schmear, and spread options. The BLT on an everything bagel can't be beat! Thankfully, you don't need to take my word for it, because staffers from Time Out New York named Bagel Pub as the 2nd best bagel spot in the entire city.

We also stopped by Egg, a Williamsburg hotspot with minimalist (almost Norwegian) decor that lets the food be the star of the show. Crispy potatoes, perfect scrambled eggs, and stewed tomatoes with onion that were so perfectly tender and sweet that I nearly licked my plate clean. Egg was much more family friendly, so if you need a cappuccino before you're around crying babies, stop by Toby's Estate on your way and you'll be glad you did.

Both spots are definitely worth a visit if you're in Brooklyn. Surprisingly, both Egg and Bagel Pub had street parking nearby and very walkable surroundings.
